Black Beauty Tall Fescue Cool Season Perennial Grass

Tall Fescue is a deep rooted, cool season perennial grass that is well adapted to cooler areas of the transition zone. We sell it as a seasonal product from November to April into climates conducive to growing cool season grasses.

Tall Fescue produces a bunch type growth habit and spreads primarily by tillering. Tall Fescue has a deep, dark green color, waxy cuticle, and is more shade tolerant than any warm season grass. Tall Fescue is adapted to a wide range of soils, but does best on clay soils high in organic matter that should be aerated annually.

Like most cool season grasses, tall fescue has a great dark green color but exhibits poor heat and wear tolerance.
