Lawn maintenance can be be a great DIY project if you go about it properly.

For those who enjoy the do-it-yourself approach, lawn maintenance is likely high their list of projects to tackle. Lawn maintenance can be tricky, but it doesn’t have to be. In order to ensure a great looking lawn, home owners simply need to know how to go about lawn maintenance.

The first thing to know about lawn maintenance is that it is an ongoing effort. In other words, if you want a great looking lawn, you’ll have to put forth the effort, and do so often. Depending on your location and the weather, you can expect to spend at least a couple of hours each week doing lawn maintenance if you want to have the kind of lawn your neighbors will envy.

Lawn maintenance also requires the proper tools. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Lawn Mower – push or riding, depending on the size of your lawn
• Weed Whacker
• Edger
• Rake
• Shovel
• Gloves
• Eye Protection

In addition, there will be times where you will need to have addition lawn maintenance items, such as fertilizer. Once you have everything you need to do your lawn maintenance, it is then simply a matter of getting out there and getting the job done.
