Developing your lawn care plan for Spring

Preparing for Spring lawn care should begin in the Winter. You’ll need to take a little time to evaluate the condition of your lawn before developing your plan for Spring. Once your plan is in place, you’ll need to make sure you have the right supplies. Here is a list of products you may need as you prepare for Spring lawn maintenance.

• Fertilizer: There are several different types of fertilizer for different seasons, lawn types, and desired results.

Sod:There is a variety of sod grasses available for each geographical area. Check with local sod suppliers to determine the right sod for your lawn.

• Equipment: Make sure you have the equipment you’ll need to maintain your lawn. You’ll need to make sure it is in good shape and properly maintained when Spring arrives. Sharpen your lawn mower blade before you mow.

• Herbicide: Herbicides are used to kill and control weeds. There are two types of herbicides, selective which only kill the weeds, and non-selective which kill all plants

You should always consult with a professional to determine the right type of lawn products for your particular lawn.
