Varieties of Turfgrass offered by Modern Turf
Greens, tees, fairways, roughs, home lawns, parks, sports fields, cemeteries, highways, bioremediation, erosion control and – yes – that whole
salt thing – this grass does it all.
This is another #1 NTEP rated grass brought to you by Modern Turf. This wonderfully dark green fine bladed zoysia is the Ferrari of zoysias.
Boasting a superior dark blue-green color and an ultra fine blade this grass is very shade tolerant (for a zoysia), has good fall color retention and early
spring green up. Zorro always wins the barefoot comparison test.
This native of Brazil is an excellent alternative to Centipede or Tall Fescue. It is very easy to grow, has great wear tolerance and always looks better than your neighbor’s lawn. Empire can be maintained at a variety of mowing heights and has moderate shade tolerance.
The National Turfgrass Evaluation Program (NTEP) rated MiniVerde ultra dwarf bermudagrass for putting greens number one for the last several
years. It tends to have less thatch, stay greener longer, is less prone to grain and less prone to disease than other ultra dwarf putting green grasses.
MiniVerde is fun and easy to grow.
This stuff is super aggressive turbo bermudagrass. This dark blue-green bermudagrass originated in Australia and out performs all other bermudagrasses in establishment, wear tolerance and recoverability. We recommend it for driving range tees, par three tees, sports fields and parks.
Tifway 419 is the industry standard for warm season golf course fairways, tees and roughs. It is also widely used as a lawn grass. Every acre of our Tifway is certified or registered.
For over 40 years Tifdwarf has been the industry standard for bermudagrass putting greens.
This native cultivar demonstrates superior shade, cold, frost, heat and drought tolerance. If shade is your issue, trim your trees and give Palmetto
a chance.
Like all our other grasses this centipede is grown on fumigated soil and is the best quality available on the market today.
We grow Tall Fescue as a seasonal crop and it is available for harvest from December through April.
SeaDwarf™ Seashore Paspalum
SeaDwarf ™ is easily the best looking warm season grass on the market today. It can be used on golf courses, athletic fields, commercial and residential lawns.
SeaDwarf can be mowed at heights from 1/10” up to about 3” making it an ideal choice for golf courses looking to manage just one grass – thus avoiding all encroachment issues. Its natural striping and superior playability offers both a visually stunning and enjoyable playing surface. SeaDwarf has an aggressive lateral growth habit which allows it to recover faster from sports related wear like divots and constant traffic. SeaDwarf ’s ability to use less nitrogen, handle varying water
sources, and adapt to a wide range of soils makes it the most environmentally friendly turfgrass available today.
